Our tirelessly networking chairman has arranged for us to share
facilities with the Caledonian
Thebans, the Edinburgh Gay rugby club. As of tomorrow, we will be
training in the University Pleasance Sports Centre, details
below.
I believe it will be in a hall with wooden floor, so please wear
trainers. Trust Upper Hall is booked from 7.30-8.30pm until 11th
December inclusive. We meet outside Edinburgh Uni Pleasance
Sports Centre for 7.15pm (changed and ready to start 7.30 prompt.
Yeah progress, a slender but meaningless,
0 - 1 defeat to
Bournemouth, who only scored off a mental deflection,
anyway, boo hiss. This left Hotscots in fourth place to progress
to the knockout stage, where, aptly
as ever, they met Prez Kev's old team Yorkshire Terriers. But hey
- the point is, the lads had already done better than any real Scottish teams in World cups,
eh? Nice one!
A slow first half against the Terriers gave away to a more pressing
second, with draftee Dave Leftfooter scoring a looping header to put
Hotscots into what should have been a comfortable lead, but the two -
games a day took a toll on players' fitness and defensive frustration
caused friction on the pitch. It was like Sean of the Dead out
there in defence when the Terriers equalised from a corner. Shit.
Extra time beckoned, everyone was carrying an injury, a knock, or
leaden legs and the extra minutes faded away to penalties.
Result: Terriers won 4 - 3 on
penalties. But hey, they face
Stonewall in the quarter finals, so we all know what that means...
Well done our brave lads, go out, get pissed and fuck London senseless
for us.

2042 zulu - Mr John gets disturbed by Kev's ring!
Anyhoo, sod the double entendres, the Hotscots have ensured
qualification to knockout stages, with two strong second half
performances to win their games today! If they beat Bournemouth 6 - 0
on Thursday they'll finish second! Chance'll be a fine thing, but
hey, they're enjoying it down there dammit.

We are proud to announce that we have
been accepted to join the UK GFSN league, playing against the likes of
the London Falcons, Birmingham Blaze and all the other teams based in
England starting in September.
Friendly at Peffermill against a team of lads from the construction
company that has offices and sites around the UK. Further
friendlies against a team of Sailors, American Indians, New York
Village cops and blokes in leather TBC.
We came 3rd. We won the group (1 - 0 v Birmingham Blaze, then 2 - 0 v
London Romans) on Saturday, then lost 2 - 0 to Merseyside Marauders on
Sun in the semi, then won the 3rd place play-off again v Blaze, so
pretty good going. We've made more friends, & now have even more
teams that want to play us, so doesn't look likeour glut of fixtures
will let up!
Well done to the boys for another fantastic effort & a great
weekend!
Take care,

Hotscots win the cup!
A huge squad of 24 footballers, chomping at the bit at the prospect of
a home tie against the league leaders was wittled down to 18 for the
2nd leg against the
London Falcons.
Trailing 2-1 from the London leg, the Hotscots
needed to win and keep the away goals at bay. The lads met that
goal halfway, also winning 2-1 and taking the tie to penalties.
With all penalties converted, a save from stand-in goalie JP followed
by another Falcom miss, saw the 'Scots win the first Fitlads
trophy and banish the Anglo-Saxon Cockney geezer hordes back over
Hadrian's wall. Gerrit up yeez!
Send us your links and pics! Match report to come.

Another friendly against Haddington Coaches, at Peffermill.
2.30pm kick off, 11 Hotscots faced off in horrible weather against a
very superior, but familiar foe, lined up in a 4-4-2, kicked off, then
got tanked ten nil. 'Nuff said, we were totally horsed.

Firstly, congratulations to Nick, Michel,
Jonathan &
Nish for completing 6 miles on Sunday in the Sport Relief run in
Edinburgh sporting the lovely HotScots kits. Rather you than me!
11 of us travelled down to Leeds to take on the might of the GFSN
League at 5-a-side in the Yorkshire Tournament.
We decided to form 2 equal teams:
Hotscots A: Captain Kev, Goalkeeper Darren,
Conor, JP & Rich
Hotscots B:
Captain John, Goalkeeper
Ross, Paul, Craig, Seamus & Bev
Both HotScots teams were drawn in the same group (fix!), which also
happened to be the Group of Death containing the winners fom the
previous 2 years (Bournemouth) & the current league champions 1st
team (London Falcons).
In a group of seven with the top two going through, HotScots A won 4,
lost to the Falcons but drew against the HotScots B team, a draw which
in typical Scottish footballing style, cost the A-team promotion out of
the group stages!
However, the A-team beat Bournemouth 2 - 0 which was the 1st time
they'd lost in 3 years!
HotScots B also did very well winning 1, drawing 2 & losing 3.
HotScots A ended on 13 points narrowly losing out to Falcons &
Bournemouth who both ended up on 15 points each. I reckon 13 points
would've gotten us through in any other group, but it wasn't to be.
Also, both Conor & JP were carrying injuries by this point &
with no subs, maybe it was best to finish at that point.
The tournament winners were the Nottingham Ballbois, so congratulations
to them.
Competing, were: Birmingham Leicester Wildecats London Falcons London Romans London Titans London
Leftfooters Bournemouth Nottingham Ballbois Merseyside Yorkshire Terriers BPP
Think that's pretty much it. There's no training this week wither on
Thurs or Sun cos of Easter, but it will all be back to normal after
this weekend.
